Booking & Weather
What happens if the weather isn’t suitable on the day?
Franz Josef runs on real West Coast time, which means the weather has the final say. If conditions like wind, rain, or cloud affect safety, we will contact you ahead of your jump, usually about an hour prior.
You’ll have the option to:
- Move your booking to a better window
- Reschedule for another day
- Take a full refund if plans don’t allow flexibility
Morning bookings give you the best starting point. Conditions are often calmer and clearer early in the day, especially across the glaciers and Southern Alps.
That said, the West Coast doesn’t follow a fixed pattern. The best advice is simple: build flexibility into your plans and let the sky do its thing.
Should I book the skydive early in my trip?
Yes. Franz Josef weather can open and close quickly. Booking early in your stay gives you more chances to catch a clear window if rescheduling is needed.
