Skydive Refusal
If after take-off, you change your mind about participating in the skydive and/or you present a safety concern via the inability to follow instructions given or any other reason your instructor may deem it necessary/appropriate to abort the skydive and land you with the plane. NO refund will be given if the jump is aborted due to your or the instructor’s decision not to skydive once the aircraft has taken off.
Media packages will have a full/partial refund made available to you depending on which package you had selected. * Media packages that do not involve a camera flyer will be fully refunded. * Media packages that do involve a camera flyer will be partially refunded (a value will be retained to cover your camera flyer and space taken in the aircraft). There will be no refund for the skydive itself (this is to cover things like airport costs, fuel, pilot, instructor and seats taken in the aircraft). This policy is not utilized often. We hope that you understand the need for it and we hope you find it to be fair.

Yes, there is a weight limit. Persons weighing between 100-115kg may be able to jump, subject to assessment by a tandem master and a harness fitting on the day.

The minimum weight requirement is 35kg, and all passengers must be large enough to fit safely into the harness.

We suggest allowing 1.5‐3 hours for the experience, however, sometimes it can take longer. This can depend on our busy summer season, large groups and the weather. If you are on a schedule, please let us know and we can advise you.

Absolutely! We love people‐the more the merrier. We have seating and tables available and you are welcome to bring snacks or lunch. If this is a special occasion, please let us know. For our courtesy shuttle, please check on availability as we have a limited number of seats.

Unfortunately at this stage it is not possible for tandem passenger to take a GoPro or any other recording devices on a tandem skydive. It is a company safety policy that is incorporated in our exposition that is required by the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority.

You will be fine keeping your contacts and glasses on. We let you determine whether or not to remove false teeth. People do scream for joy a lot.

Comfortable clothing for the season and shoes that won’t fall off.

In general, it is better to have something in your stomach and eat beforehand. However some people may be susceptible to stomach upset and/or motion sickness from all the excitement.

We’ll make a weather call an hour before the event and notify you of any cancellations or delays. We may delay due to wind at altitude, wind on the ground, heavy cloud or rain. Don’t sweat it though – we’ll find a new suitable jump time for you or give you a full refund on your booking.

We are open 364 days of the year weather permitting. It is always a good time to skydive! The light is different in the morning and afternoon or evening – but it’s all good.

Yes, one day you will. But not up here. There is as much chance of that as being run over by 3 buses in a row. Our record for safety is 5 stars!

This is dependent on many factors and we will always do our best to keep groups together, however sometimes this is not possible but we always do our best.

Yes you can wear your prescription glasses whilst skydiving. We have goggles that will fit over your glasses

Yes. Our Mt Cook and Abel Tasman drop zones have viewing areas at the base.
However for Franz, the dropzone is a short drive from the base. Providing we have enough space in our vans we can take spectators for free. This won’t be guaranteed and only available at the time of the trip. They are welcome to drive themselves to watch though and we can provide directions.
Please be mindful there are multiple people jumping at one time, so it is best to keep spectator groups small. If you wish to bring a large group for a special occasion please contact the base to let us know in advance.

Skydiving is a very weather dependent activity so sometimes we won’t be able to jump. We will try our best to re-arrange your trip to the next time slot that suits and is available. For this reason, we advise you to book your skydive on the first available time slot in your holiday and keep a back-up day free. If you cannot re-arrange to another trip, you will be refunded in full from wherever you paid originally.

Unfortunately, personal cameras/phones and Go Pro’s are prohibited from being on board the aircraft due to safety and insurance reasons. All of our equipment has to be checked properly due to the extreme nature of skydiving. However, you can take photos on the ground while getting ready and we do offer a professional skydive photographer that is able to jump with you and take photos/video during your skydive.

Unfortunately, we do not offer life insurance, although you are covered for medical treatment while in New Zealand under the Accident Compensation Commission. However, some companies will insure you to tandem skydive and you need to check this with your travel insurance company directly.
